Young motorcyclist killed in crash near Pinjarra

A young motorcyclist has died in a crash south-west of Pinjarra.

The 20-year-old, who was riding a Yamaha motorbike, is believed to have stopped in the emergency lane of the Forrest Highway northbound in West Coolup around 10.45pm on Friday, December 29.

At the same time, a white Toyota LandCruiser was being driven north on the same section of the highway about 200 metres south of the intersection with Hill Road.

"A crash involving the two vehicles occurred in the emergency lane," a WA Police spokesperson said.

The rider of the motorcycle died at the scene.

The death marks the fourth motorcyclist to be killed on WA roads over the Christmas period.
