The Eastern Foreshore will once again transform into a snowy winter paradise these school holidays.
Winter Wonderland returns to Mandurah for its second year with the eastern foreshore to be transformed from July 7-29, taking advantage of the last week of the July school holidays.
The family friendly festival will feature a real ice skating rink with sessions running every hour as well as some new additions and the return of some favourites.
Flic's Kitchen Cabin Bar will also return this year with a bigger outdoor space serving up winter eats and drinks as well as the introduction of themed nights and live music.
New to the festival this year are custom-made fire pits dotted throughout the foreshore, designed to keep punters warm and provide comfortable viewing areas for all the ice skating action.
Winter Wonderland is supported by the City of Mandurah, an initiative Mayor Rhys Williams said was a welcome addition to the Mandurah events calendar.
“The Eastern Foreshore is at the heart of our City Centre and for us Winter Wonderland is about giving people a reason to get out and enjoy the City during a time when people tend to favour the indoors. It’s about giving our community another place to come together and enjoy," he said.
“It’s also about encouraging the community to get out and support some of our local businesses.”
“Last year’s event was well received by the community so when the opportunity came up to do this again we we’re more than happy to support the initiative.”
Winter Wonderland is accessible for all, including wheelchairs and “wheely friendly” ice skating sessions throughout the season.
There are special ice skates and penguins for those that require a little more help on the ice and plenty of late night skate sessions.
Ice skating sessions will run hourly for 45 minutes from 9am to 8pm during the last week of the school holidays and weekends and run from 3pm to 8pm for the remaining days.
Early bird tickets are on sale now for skating sessions. You can purchase tickets here.
