The four-year-old boy, fighting for life following a Thornlie house fire, has sadly passed away.

Reports will now be prepared for the coroner after a four-year-old boy has died following the Wednesday house fire.

A 69-year-old Chilean refugee also died from injuries he suffered during the blaze, it's understood the man was the great-grandfather of the young victim.

The fire broke out on Wednesday evening at the Rushbrook Way property. The pair were pulled from the scene, unconscious, by Firefighters.

Sadly the man could not be revived and died after being rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital. The child died overnight at Perth Children's Hospital.

Arson Squad said the blaze was not being treated as suspicious, but the cause is still unknown.
