Residents in Byford, Oakford and Serpentine have all been left in the dark following heavy rain and lightning this morning.
Western Power said it was working to restore power to around 25,000 cutstomer today following a downpour this morning.
In a tweet the company said it believes lighting has triggered the safety devices in the system, but no damage has been done to the network.
Suburbs affected by the lightning strike include Byford, Armadale, Brookdale, Seville Grove, Bedfordale, Hilbert, Serpentine, Mt Nasura, Mt Richon and Oakford.

There's also reports of traffic lights blacked out in the Oakford area.
One resident has reported traffic lights at Thomas Road and Tonkin Highway are down.
