A family have been reunited with their socks a week after they were stolen from the backyard of their Secret Harbour home.
Kevin Rosina hung several pairs of socks around a washing basket last week and when he went to bring them in he noticed they were nowhere to be seen.
His wife Danielle Rosina said he looked around the backyard to check they had not blown away but could not find them.
"He just said 'they were gone' and I thought 'that's a bit weird'," she said.
Danielle decided to post about the unusual theft on a community Facebook page.
"I put something up on there saying 'our socks have been taken from our backyard, has anybody else had anything weird like that going on?'."
She said she received several responses, with some residents claiming thieves stole socks to use as gloves before they broke into houses.
"I was petrified to hang my washing out, I even hung it up inside," she said.
A week later a neighbour knocked at the door admitting it was not a person who stole the socks, but her cat Monty.
"She said that one of her friends saw the post on the Facebook page and she said 'are you guys missing some socks?'," Danielle said.
"The socks were at her front door, about six different pairs, covered in cat hair."
Danielle said she was relieved to find out it was her neighbour's cat.
"Monty is so lovely and he's in love with my two girls so he might've been pining for them," she said.
