MARC leisure pool, pirate playground to close for several weeks due to maintenance works

The indoor leisure pool and pirate playground at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre is set to close for several weeks.

The indoor leisure pool and pirate playground at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC) are set to close for several weeks due to "essential maintenance works".

The pool will be drained to allow for works on the pool gutters, which the City says is crucial to ensure longevity of the pool pump.

Tiles and group will also be fixed along with a damaged pipe in the playground.

The leisure pool and pirate playground will close on Monday, April 14 and re-open in late May.

The indoor 25m pool, outdoor 50m pool and Wellness Centre (spa and sauna) will remain open during this time, and the MARC Swim School will continue to operate from the indoor 25m pool.

Mayor Caroline Knight thanked the community for their understanding during the short-term pool closure.

“We apologise for any inconvenience to the community during the closure, but we look forward to reopening the pool as soon as possible and continuing to provide top-quality facilities for everyone to enjoy,” Mayor Knight said.

“We thank everyone for their understanding as we carry out these important works.”

To keep up to date on the works and re-opening, head to the City of Mandurah’s website or follow the MARC’s social media pages.
