A man has been shot dead by police in the Perth Hills after a traffic stop.
The 29-year-old man was a passenger in a Ford Falcon sedan armed with a shot gun when he was stopped around 5.30pm on Thursday on Pine Terrace in Darlington.
“The officers have fired their weapons and the man received a number of gunshot wounds,” a police spokesperson said.
Police administered first aid and paramedics attended but the man died at the scene.
Major Crime Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting and the Police Internal Affairs Unit is conducting a separate inquiry into the shooting.
