Man left in coma, two others serious injured in Fremantle assault

Detectives are investigating an incident in Fremantle last month which left three men seriously injured.

Authorities said on Saturday September 29 around 11.20pm three friends were outside a licenced venue on South Terrace. A man, unknown to the trio, pushed a 43-year-old man and struck a 36-year-old man in the group. The 36-year-old man was knocked out unconscious.
 
Police said the altercation spilled onto the street where a 48-year-old man, the third of the friends, tried to separate the man and other victim. The attacker struck both men knocking them to the ground. The 48-year-old man was also knocked unconscious.
 
The other victim moved off the road and was followed by the attacker, who allegedly struck the victim in the head. The victim was also rendered unconscious.
 
The attack, who fled South Terrace in a south easterly direction, is described as light skinned, around 180cm tall, of a stocky build with brown short hair.
 
He was wearing a grey T-shirt, long black trousers and black shoes with white laces.
 
The 48-year-old-man was rushed to hospital where he remains in an induced coma with serious head injuries.
 
The 43-year-old man was also rushed to hospital with head injuries and a broken ankle, while the 36-year-old man received minor injuries.
 
Fremantle Detectives would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assaults or who may have information relating to the incident are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
