A man has been fined after police found cannabis plants at his Greenfields property.
On July 11, 2019 police attended Trevor Farr's premise with a search warrant for another matter.
In a padlocked shed at the back of the property, there were eight matured cannabis plants, along with some smaller cannabis plants and seedlings.
There was also over 4kg of cultivated cannabis - most of it said to be unusable.
Mr Farr explained the cannabis had been used for personal use for around 12 months after suffering a back injury, and that he was not supplying to anyone else.
He appeared in Mandurah Magistrate's Court on Tuesday pleading guilty to cultivating and possessing cannabis, but Magistrate Anne Longden thought Mr Farr was remorseful for his actions.
"At the end of the day, it's against the law and you need to find another solution [for your back injury]," she said.
Mr Farr was fined $1000 and ordered to pay costs.
