Police will be targeting hoon drivers in a new crackdown that will see fines go up for dangerous levels of speeding.
From next Tuesday, those caught speeding by more than 40km/h will be slapped with a $1200 fine.
That's up from $1000.
The West reports police are catching around 52 drivers a month in that category.
Heavy-vehicle drivers will be fined $1500 for the same offence.
