A driver is facing "serious charges" after a police chase through Port Kennedy.
The man, who was allegedly travelling at more than 40km/h over the speed limit, failed to stop for officers on Port Kennedy Drive around 10.30pm on Thursday.
The 21-year-old driver then allegedly crashed into a light pole at the roundabout of Warnbro Sound Avenue and Port Kennedy Drive before abandoning his Toyota Hilux utility on Endeavour Drive.
The man allegedly ran from the scene but was arrested by officers shortly after.
He was breath tested and allegedly recorded a reading of almost twice the legal blood-alcohol limit.
The man from Port Kennedy has been charged with exceeding the speed limit, aggravated reckless driving, failing to stop, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and excess 0.08.
He will appear in court at a later date.
