Demitry to face court for Rockingham rampage

Detectives have charged the 38-year-old following a string of incidents in the Rockingham area yesterday.

The Balga man is expected to have his hearing bedside at the Joondalup Health Campus after he was hospitalised.

Just after 7.00am yesterday Sameh Yassa Samuel Demitry was driving a Nissan Navara Ute when it struck a home on Barnes Street in Rockingham.

Police said Demitry entered the home and assaulted a man in his 60s with a metal bat while acting in a threatening manner towards the female occupant.

Both the man and woman inside the home fled to safety at a neighbour's property. It will be further alleged the man attended the neighbouring home and struck the front door, causing damage.

It is believed the man is not known to any of the victims.

Detectives attended the Balga Shopping Centre later in the day where it was established the man had attended a medical clinic due to injuries he had sustained. It was further established the medical centre had called an ambulance, which had taken the man to Joondalup Health Campus.
