Police were called to a home on Noosa Drive after residents reported hearing gunshots around 12.30pm on Monday.
When officers arrived, no one was inside the home, but a blood trail was found and the front windows of the home had suffered damage from a “projectile”.
According to Seven News, the injured man was able to take himself to a home on Cawana Parkway in Lakelands before seeking treatment at Peel Health Campus in Mandurah.
Detectives then arrested a man at gunpoint on Harmony Avenue in Atwell.
A 34-year-old Atwell man has been charged with no authority to drive and is due to appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
A 28-year-old man, who was allegedly shot, is in custody in hospital and has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle, drove, caused or permitted a vehicle with a forged, replica or false plate to be driven on the road, no authority to drive and possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property.
He is likely to face a bedside hearing today.
A 28-year-old woman is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
A police spokesperson said the investigation is ongoing.
