Call for Crab Fest volunteers

The annual Crab Fest is fast approaching with volunteers needed for a variety of roles.

The Mandurah Crab Fest is two months away and the call for volunteers has gone out.

The festival last year attracted over 120,000 locals and tourists, and requires around 120 volunteers to assist each year.

City of Mandurah deputy mayor Caroline Knight says volunteers are vital to the festivals' ongoing success.

"Volunteers are the unsung heroes and help with a variety of jobs before, during and after the event," she said.

"For an event the size of Crab Fest to run smoothly it is a massive team effort involving City staff, volunteers and local businesses."

The Channel 7 Crab Fest will take place on Saturday 16 and Sunday March 17.
