The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development are reminding people to stick to the new rules during this abalone season.
Recreational abalone fishers are being reminded again of the need to stay safe and know the rules when fishing as the second fishing day of the west coast zone season kicks off this Saturday.
From 7:00am fishers with the correct licenses will be able to fish the designated zone for one hour.
The new abalone season kicked off last month, with reminders to all fishers about licenses and permitted zones.
The season's fishing days have been changed to run over the summer months to reduce the risk of rough weather conditions.
The Department said fishers need to think about safety at all times and not take risks.
In the event that severe weather is forecast, fishery could be closed on advice from Surf Life Saving WA.
The season may also be reduced or extended to ensure the total recreational catch of abalone, that is Roe's and greenlip & brownlip abalone, are within the target range of 18-22 tonnes.
Here's a reminder of your fishing limits.
